Beat the Heat in the Garage this Summer

Heat can be downright unbearable during summer. When the temperature gets hot up to well over 100° F or around 40° C, we might as well just chill in the bedroom with the AC on the whole day. But for the areas that experience a year-round summer-like weather, the added degrees on the thermometer are beyond intolerable. First, let us dive into what causes the unbearable heat. There can be multiple sources as to why the garage traps too much heat. One of which is the location of the garage. If your area faces west, then the garage is exposed to the intense late afternoon heat of the sun. It also does not help your cause if your garage does not have any ventilation system nor any working insulation features. Even the choice of colors in your garage design contributes to the trapping of the heat. Darker garage exterior and door colors are known conductors of heat. And if you use the garage as a parking space, parking your car right after driving on a hot day also further keeps the hot temperature in the area. Now that you are somehow knowledgeable about why the garage can get so warm, especially from noon to early afternoon, the high temperature should not hinder you from carrying out your tasks in the garage, however. Sure, the extremely hot days will definitely dissuade you from even entering the room, but there are a number of remedies to combat the problem. Refrain from parking your recently used vehicle in the garage right away
Let the steam off your car after using it the whole day outside. Heat can still radiate off from a vehicle after shutting the engine off. So, as not to add a few more degrees to the already hot temperature sitting in the garage, do yourself a favor by parking it outside first. Then, after a few minutes of cooling down, you may already transfer your car inside the garage. Parking it inside is still the safer choice as it can protect your car from damage.

Install efficient ventilation system
Improve the airflow in your garage space by installing a dedicated garage ventilation system. Might as well look into the active ventilation system as opposed to the passive one as it is more efficient at removing hot air because it is mechanically powered.
